How Does Channel Drum Filter Work?
The Channel Drum Filter is made up of bar screen plates formed into a drum-shaped basket with gaps between the bars.

The water to be treated flows into the front of the basket, passes through the screen for filtration, and flows towards the pool outlet. The debris is retained on the surface of the screen. When the water level difference between the inside and outside of the screen reaches a certain value, the rotating rake installed on the central shaft begins to remove the debris. When the cleaning rake gathers the debris to the top of the basket, the debris starts to be discharged (the debris that can fall due to its own weight is unloaded into the debris trough). After that, the basket rotates 15°, and the cleaning rake at the top of the basket automatically scrapes off the debris stuck to the rake teeth, which is then unloaded into the debris trough. The debris is lifted by a spiral conveyor at the bottom of the trough, then pressed and dewatered in the upper section, and finally unloaded onto a conveyor belt or into a garbage truck for external transport. After being pressed and dewatered, the solid content of the filter cake can reach 25%-45%. This process plays an important role in reducing transportation costs and preventing secondary pollution.
Applications:
- Pre-treatment in domestic wastewater treatment equipment
- Removal of debris at water intake and discharge points in factories, municipalities, and residential areas
- Material separation in industrial wastewater from mining, papermaking, chemical fiber, textile, dyeing, and other industries
- Debris removal, sludge raking, and dewatering in later stages of sewage treatment plants
- Debris removal, sludge raking, and dewatering in industrial wastewater treatment projects
